Hiking the Stairs
“Cowards Never Start…The Weak Never Finish…Winners Never Quit!”
“What would you attempt to do if you realized you would not ever fail?”
Even though the stairs at Amicalola Falls are not part of the official Appalachian Trail, their ascent is tradition. Those who did not do the steps, but completed the thru hike, have often returned to do the stairs. The approach to Springer Mountain is 8.5 miles away and many want to “get their legs” on the trail. The stairs are the best way!
Just remember the way to eat an elephant (metaphorically, not literally) is one bite at a time. Climb until you are tired then rest and climb some more.
